Vietnam International Travel Mart 2020 (VITM) is expected to take place from November 18-21 after two delays due to COVID-19.
Held at the Viet Xo Culture Palace, the event has about 300 booths by tourism businesses as well as tourism management and promotion agencies from 54 provinces and cities nationwide.
Facing the new situation, the theme of the program will be changed from “Heritage – Strength of Vietnam Tourism” to “Digital Transformation to promote Vietnam’s tourism development”.
Initially, the fair was rescheduled from April 1-4 to May 14-17 and then August 12-15 due to the pandemic.
The previous version of VITM welcomed about 65,000 visitors, of which about 29,300 visitors booked tours right at the fair, helping participating businesses earn about 322.3 billion dong (13.8 million USD).
As of the morning of September 17, Vietnam had 15 consecutive days without any coronavirus infection in the community, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention.
The country has so far confirmed 1,063 cases of SARS-CoV-2. Out of a total, 691 people have been infected with the virus in the country, of which 551 have been linked to downtown Da Nang since the last coronavirus outbreak there on July 25. Up to 936 patients had recovery, while 35 people died from disease-related complications.
